About me and my journey

Three years ago, I took on an allotment that was local to me. When I first got it, the plot was completely overgrown, a tangle of weeds and brambles. It felt daunting at first, but I was determined to transform it into a space where I could grow my own produce.

I chose to use the “no dig” method, which has been a game-changer for me. Instead of turning the soil, I covered it with compost and mulch, allowing the natural ecosystem to thrive. Over time, the weeds were suppressed, and the soil became rich and fertile.

It’s been a journey of learning and patience, but the rewards have been incredible. Now, my allotment is a thriving haven of vegetables, fruits, and flowers, all grown with care and respect for the environment. Every season brings something new, and I’m grateful for the abundance it provides.

Having this allotment has deepened my connection to nature and has given me a sense of fulfillment that’s hard to describe. It’s more than just a place to grow food—it’s a place where I can unwind, reflect, and be part of something bigger.
